PETERBOROUGH PUPIL’S GREETINGS CARDS WELCOME RESIDENTS TO THEIR NEW NEIGHBOURHOOD

Following a greetings card design competition with Barratt and David Wilson Homes, an imaginative pupil from a school in Peterborough has spread joy to residents at the homebuilder’s new Hampton Beach development.

As part of a ‘Welcome Home’ campaign, the housebuilders reached out to St John Henry Newman Catholic Primary School close to its new development in Peterborough, for the help of the school children to design greeting cards to be handed out to new homebuyers.

Local pupil, Yeva, was crowned the winner of the competition and has seen her card printed to be delivered to new residents. She has also received an 85-piece art set as a prize so she can continue to express her creative skills.

Tasha Young, School Finance Manager at St John Henry Newman Catholic Primary School, said: “The children have really enjoyed taking part in this competition, and they worked really hard on the wonderful designs. It’s a privilege to know our school will have a part in welcoming new residents to Hampton Beach.”

The campaign aims to provide a warm welcome to those who have recently moved to the development, whilst also highlighting key information about the local area.

The theme of the housebuilder’s greetings card competition was ‘all things home-related’, encouraging local children to be as creative as possible, to outline pictures and details about the area they live in.

Yeva’s winning design featured the school, shops including Tesco, Next and Costa, as well as the lake that selected homes at Hampton Beach will overlook.

Will Phair, Sales Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Cambridgeshire, said: “It’s important to us to make new residents feel welcome as they join our new communities, and we’re thankful to the pupils of St John Henry Newman Catholic Primary School for helping us to do just that.

“We hope that when moving into their new home, a message from a local school pupil will really put a smile on homeowners’ faces.

“We received a variety of inventive entries as part of the Welcome Home card campaign and it was a difficult task choosing our winner, however we hope this project has inspired the imaginations of the children involved.”

Hampton Beach is close to the city of Peterborough and will feature amenities to suit the lifestyles of young couples, growing families and commuters alike.

The development offers homebuyers the opportunity to move to an idyllic countryside setting, whilst having great commuter links with the A15, A1 and A47 in close proximity.
