STONELEIGH LAUNCHES UK’S FIRST PLANT SURGERY TO HELP NURTURE THE NATION’S PLANT BABIES

Stoneleigh, New Zealand’s number one wine brand, is set to launch the UK’s first Plant ER, a walk-in plant surgery that aims to help plant parents save and care for their plants. Opening on Friday 6th May, coinciding with World Sauvignon Blanc Day, patients will receive a free consultation from Plant Sitwhilst parents enjoy a glass of Stoneleigh Sauvignon Blanc.

The popularity of plants and houseplants began long before the pandemic. But over the past two years, the leafy companions have become a near necessity, with research1 showing that owning houseplants increases productivity, reduces stress, and improves mental health. The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS)2, for instance, recorded more than one million web visits to its gardening advice pages during the first lockdown, with many retailers seeing sales of houseplants soar by over 200%.

However, the botanical boom also saw many new plant parents struggling to keep house plants alive, some overwatered them, and some simply forgot about them.

Stoneleigh’s Plant ER is set to change that. The walk-in plant surgery will help revive wilted plants and help plant parents understand everything they need to know about their specific variety and help them thrive indoors.

From money trees to fiddle leaf figs and euphorbias, Stoneleigh’s Plant ER doctors will be available to treat all varieties of plants. There is no need to make a call at 8am to book a slot as the surgery will operate on a walk-in basis. Plant parents are invited to bring their plants, enjoy a glass of Stoneleigh Sauvignon Blanc wine while in the waiting room, and leave the Plant ER surgery with a prescription that will outline exactly what is needed to keep their plant thriving.

At its core, Stoneleigh adopts a unique minimal intervention winemaking philosophy and collaboration with nature. The wine is 100% certified vegan and made from 100% sustainably sourced grapes. Stoneleigh is giving back to nature with over 30 hectares dedicated to biodiversity projects and regenerative land.

The vibrant wine is brilliantly intense with flavours of grapefruit, white peach, and passionfruit with a scattering of tropical stone fruits. It can be enjoyed as an aperitif or the perfect accompaniment to salads, grilled vegetables, and delicate seafood like mussels. Perfect for enjoying whilst bathing in plants, awaiting your own to be nurtured.

Lucy Bearman, Wine Portfolio Director of Stoneleigh, said: “Over the last few years we’ve all learned a lot about our love for plants, so it’s no surprise that many continue seeking advice on how to better care for their green babies.”

“It’s in our nature to give back, so we’re creating a space, the Plant ER, where people can pop in and have their plant baby taken care of whilst enjoying our refreshing, crisp, vegan Sauvignon Blanc, crafted by nature. We look forward to welcoming many plant parents and plant-lovers alike to our relaxing and unique plant surgery.”
