Subway® has today launched a partnership with charity FareShare to support those who may need it most amid the current cost-of-living crisis – backed by comedian & TV personality Judi Love who joined Subway’s Sandwich Artists™ to prepare Subs and surprise guests in store.

From 13th – 24th December, Subway will donate £1 from every Festive Menu item purchased to Fareshare* – the UK’s biggest charity fighting hunger and tackling food waste.

Just £1 helps FareShare redistribute the equivalent of four meals to those in need, with Subway’s donation expected to provide up to 800,000 meals*.

The FareShare partnership launches following research which reveals half of Brits (50%) feeling the impact of rising food prices and energy inflation are more appreciative and grateful for what they have, with over a quarter (26%) agreeing they were more likely to offer to help others if they felt they were struggling, as a result of the cost-of-living crisis.

Over a third (38%) of charitable Brits feel they have more of an understanding and better appreciation of other people’s financial situations amid the cost-of-living crisis, with over a quarter (26%) saying they were likely to donate to a foodbank and over half (53%) revealing they would be more likely to help people out in smaller ‘everyday’ ways.

With around 10 million people, including 2.6 million children, said to be going hungry amid the current cost of living crisis and ‘food insecurity’ doubling since the pandemic It’s more important than ever to support communities across the UK this festive season.

Fronting the campaign is the vibrant, straight-talking stand-up comedian & TV personality Judi Love, who is ready to cut through the noise and bring the people what they want – savings on quick-service, healthy and nutritious meals, and to make their cash go that bit further when it counts most.

Judi Love, who launched the partnership in store said: “We all know it’s an incredibly tough time for many at the moment, which is why it’s more important than ever to support those committed to making a difference and feeding the festive spirit this winter. Subway®’s partnership with FareShare has been launched as part of the sandwich brand’s ‘Sub You’ campaign – an initiative to support Brits with deals and promotions on healthy and nutritious meals.

Following research, which revealed over two thirds (65%) of Brits are eating out less in response to the cost of-living crisis and a fifth (21%) are cutting down on healthy meals to make savings, Subway®’s ‘Sub You’ is committed to keeping communities eating and feeling positive during these tough times.

With approximately 4.2 million people expected to benefit from the new roll out of offers, Subway’s ‘Sub You’ will see a selection of deals and promotions launch over the coming month, bringing some welcome festive spirit to the current economic doom and gloom many are experiencing.
