Tickets for New Year’s Eve fireworks on sale next Friday

The first tickets for London’s globally renowned New Year’s Eve fireworks will go on sale at midday on Friday 28 September.

The spectacular display, organised by the Mayor of London, will bring together more than 100,000 spectators around the Coca-Cola London Eye to celebrate the New Year.

Ticket holders will be able to enjoy a pyrotechnic and lighting display choreographed to music, with more than 12,000 fireworks, 2,000 lighting cues and 30 tonnes of equipment on three barges on the River Thames.

The celebration will again be started by the chimes of Big Ben, which has remained silent during the year while undergoing renovation works.

Each ticket is priced at £10 – the same price as when ticketing was first introduced four years ago – and the majority will go on sale next week. A further batch of tickets will be released in late November.

Anyone without a ticket will be able to enjoy the fireworks live on BBC One alongside more than 11m TV viewers or choose to celebrate the New Year at hundreds of events at bars, restaurants, pubs and clubs across the capital.

The fireworks are also beamed to TV audiences around the world, reinforcing the city’s position as a global capital of tourism and culture and showing that London Is Open.

Those wishing to attend the display are advised to plan early and book their tickets in advance. Demand is always extremely high and those without a ticket will not be able to enter the viewing area.

To ensure that the event is safe and enjoyable for all, the Mayor’s team works closely with a wide range of partner agencies including the Met Police, TfL, local authorities and the emergency services.

Tickets will go on sale from midday on Friday 28 September. There will be a maximum of four tickets per transaction.
