Versaclimber partners with boxing entrepreneur and The Apprentice winner Marnie Swindells

Versaclimber UK has announced its partnership with Bronx Boxing Club, owned by this year’s The Apprentice winner, Marnie Swindells.

As well as demonstrating the benefit of investment into boxing clubs – a notoriously underfunded discipline at a grass-roots level – the partnership aims to build on the machine’s growing status in the boxing industry, which includes an elite roster of names including Tal Singh and Anthony Ogogo.

Having launched the Bronx Boxing Club in Camberwell, South East London, in February this year, the TV personality and former boxer, coach and promoter, has been on the look-out for equipment to house in the space.

Now, the wider community at Bronx will be in good company as the Versaclimber TS will play a permanent fixture in the gym for the next 12-months, thanks to the joint partnership, with future plans to expand its presence in the space, located on Vicarage Grove, as the gym grows.

The TS, the latest next generation of the Versaclimber, is the first to be fitted with an interactive touch screen, accompanied by its own app enabling users to track performance, compete with others and review fitness over time.

The state-of-the-art machine will enable Swindells to offer the very best quality training equipment, in a discipline widely recognised for its traditional training methods, allowing users to benefit from its low-impact, full-body workout and its ability to work every muscle group, meaning users can burn more calories at a faster rate.

Bronx Boxing Club is open to a range of capabilities, from professional sporting stars like Chris Eubank Junior, Joe Joyce and Mikaela Mayer, to those within the wider community just getting started.

Underpinning its early success is its experienced team of coaches, who host boxing and fitness sessions like its BoxBronx Bag work sessions, to Hit & Mitts, and Queens; a women’s only session.

Commenting on the partnership, Ryan Kelford, operations manager of Versaclimber UK, said:

“This partnership really is the beginning of an exciting chapter for both Versaclimber UK, and Bronx. Boxing is a huge market for us, and we know how fundamental our machines are to some of the best – and emerging – fighters in the country. That market only continues to grow.

“With her background in the sport, as a fighter herself, turned coach, promoter, now owner, we don’t feel our machine could be in better hands. Marnie’s quickly established herself as a boxing authority, and has surrounded herself with an incredibly talented team of coaches, all housed in a really unique space. It feels only right that the Versaclimber now joins that family, in an effort to bring the very best quality training – alongside that knowledge and expertise – to the Bronx community.

“We’re looking forward to seeing how the partnership develops over the next 12-months, and beyond, as the Bronx carries out its ambitious expansion plans.”

Marnie Swindells, owner and director of Bronx Boxing Club, added:

“I’m thrilled to be working with the Versaclimber UK team; an organisation with an established reputation in the fitness space across the world. This is the one piece equipment that we’ve long been missing at Bronx, and the one piece we believe will take our fighters’ skills to the next level.

“Since it was installed at Bronx, we’ve seen fighters of all ages and abilities jump on the machine – each with glowing reviews. We’re excited to see how far this partnership can go, as we continue to grow ourselves.”
