What’s On This Christmas: an Enchanted Forest and pop-up cinema, Winter Jazz, Christmas Markets, carol singing, mulled wine and more!

Greenwich Peninsula brings an Enchanted Forest to the city this Winter with a line-up of events guaranteed to get everyone into the festive spirit. From winter craft and kids workshops and classic film screenings, to intimate jazz gigs and a Christmas rock concert there is something for everyone to enjoy every weekend until Christmas. Visitors can soak up Yuletide sights, smells and sounds throughout the illuminated installation, offering the perfect backdrop for those seasonal selfies.

From Wednesday 30th November, the magical forest experience will welcome people to the Peninsula lining the route to Design District’s Canteen where visitors can indulge in seasonal eats and festive hand-crafted cocktails. Canteen will also be serving natural wines, spirits and craft beers as well as mulled wine and decadent winter warmers. To complement the eclectic offering of street food from Canteen, Greenwich Peninsula Market will bring their popular churros back to the Peninsula, alongside indulgent Spanish-style hot chocolate and a selection of artisanal cheeses. The market is the perfect place for a spot of shopping to discover original gifts from jewellery to textiles, self-care products to art, ceramics and candles.

A festive pop-up cinema set within the Enchanted Forest will screen holiday films from Elf to Home Alone, Frozen and It’s A Wonderful Life. Hosted in the heart of Design District, films will be shown every weekend from Saturday 3rd through to Sunday 18th December with tickets priced between £6-18. Arrive early and grab some street food and drinks from Canteen; one bar and six independent vendors serving up irresistible treats from the world’s streets.

For the grown-ups, enchanting evenings of Winter Jazz at Bureau in Design District will take place on Thursday 8th and Friday 9th December. Guests will be able to relax with a drink in hand as they soak up spectacular live sets from the likes of Daisy George, Waldo’s Gift, Maria Chiara Argirò, Olive Jones and Ben Marc.

The Enchanted Forest at Greenwich Peninsula will also host a wreath-making workshop in collaboration with Bloom East on 8th December from 6:30-9pm, a carol singing and mulled wine night, weeknight DJ sets from 5-10:30pm and Kids’ Table craft sessions each weekend from 11:30am-3:30pm at Canteen. For mirth and merriment, Don’t miss London’s only rock orchestra, The 286, hosting a Christmas concert on 7th December, 6-8pm.

From Wednesday 30th November NOW Gallery is delighted to present RIBBONS, a new fashion commission by award-winning fashion designer and artist Matty Bovan, which will see the gallery space invaded by a monumental, ceiling height hand knitted jumper that invites visitors to enter the multicoloured tent like structure. Inside the jumper, guests can relax on handmade tufted rugs while watching the experimental film RIBBONS made by the artist that follows the making of the jumper structure. The film will combine progress shots with a narrative of a story acted out by real people and actors.

Greenwich Peninsula’s Winter Programme kicks off on Wednesday 30th November.
