Wolves of Tokyo, a dramatic new arrival is set to transform West London’s dining scene. The 8,000-square-foot restaurant and rooftop cocktail bar will be one the first restaurants to open at the new Olympia in June this year. With a restaurant on the ground floor and a lively rooftop bar above, Wolves of Tokyo will deliver a bold, fresh perspective on contemporary Japanese dining in the capital.
Inspired by the after-dark energy of modern Tokyo and the cinematic atmosphere of a Japanese noir film, Wolves of Tokyo will be a high-impact, high-energy space designed for memorable evenings of dining and drinking. The ground floor is home to the 80-cover restaurant with an open kitchen, featuring elegant counter style seating for a close view of the action as well as booth seating for larger groups. Upstairs, a 200-capacity rooftop bar offers a stylish experience, with elevated Japanese Izakaya style bar snacks and cocktails.
The restaurant is led by Head Chef Sharon Patriciello, formerly of ROKA London and Clap London. The menu centres Japanese techniques and flavours, underpinned by a deep respect for produce, provenance and seasonality. Every dish has been created with purpose and minimal waste –remaining ingredients from one dish are thoughtfully reworked into another. Guests can choose from an à la carte menu or opt for a five-course tasting menu, with a seven-course premium tasting menu also available. The broad menu offers fresh maki, gunkan, sashimi, nigiri, kushiyaki, gyoza and donburi, as well as larger main dishes. Highlights include the black cod with plum miso and pickled vegetables, the chicken donburi, served with a rich broth, poached egg and truffle, and the A5 Kagoshima wagyu served with bone marrow and garlic confit.
Sharon Patriciello, Head Chef, comments, “At Wolves of Tokyo, everything starts with the produce. Japanese food culture has such respect for the flavour that quality seasonal ingredients, produce, something strongly shared by the rural Italian culinary culture I grew up with. Our menu is designed so every dish has purpose and nothing is wasted, and we want guests to feel that energy as soon as the food starts arriving at the table. Olympia offers the perfect stage for a concept of this scale, and we’re excited to share Wolves of Tokyo with the city.”
Complementing the food, the drinks programme will offer a curated collection of classic cocktails blended with Japanese flavours as well as an extensive menu of premium sake and spirits. Highlights include the Sake Martini, shaken with Ki No Bi Gin, Gin-no Yume Sake and Maraschino liqueur, the Shitake Old Fashioned, prepared with Shitake infused Red Breast 12 Year, Apricot Liqueur, Amontillado Sherry, Kahlua and Peach and a Sesame Colada.
Wolves of Tokyo’s modern interior design channels Japanese noir, pairing shadowed corners with refined minimalism and intentional bursts of colour. Blue marble and stainless steel set the tone for intimate dining in the restaurant while in the rooftop bar, vibrant reds and sweeping lounge seating invite guests to linger for cocktails well into the night. Bespoke layered lighting, moody textures and precise detailing shape a space that transforms seamlessly from lunch into late night.
The restaurant is home to an apartment style private dining room, which can host 20 guests seated or 40 standing. With bespoke lighting fixtures and seating, its own private balcony and a self-service bar, it is a standout setting for private celebrations. In true Tokyo style, the private dining room has its own built in karaoke system for when the mood strikes.
Heated and equipped with a retractable roof, the rooftop bar Above Wolves is perfect for unwinding with a cocktail or two from the extensive bar menu. There will also be a selection of Izakaya style snack dishes available on the rooftop.
With its striking interiors, innovative menus and rooftop setting, Wolves of Tokyo promises to be one of the most talked-about new openings of the year.
Set within Olympia, London’s newest destination for entertainment, culture and hospitality, a curated mix of bars and restaurants will open alongside Wolves of Tokyo under the new rooftop, the Canopy, followed by the launch of the live entertainment venue British Airways ARC on 16 June. The destination will also welcome Hyatt Regency London Olympia from 6 July and citizenM London Olympia in early summer, as part of a wider programme of openings across Olympia. Together, these launches mark a bold new chapter in the £1.3 billion transformation of the 140-year-old London landmark, introducing a vibrant new destination for Londoners and international visitors alike.
Wolves of Tokyo opens 15th June at Olympia.
