5 pasta styles you didn’t know existed – World Pasta Day
Yesterday was World Pasta Day and the Pasta Grannies YouTube channel celebrates the women behind the traditional art form of making pasta from scratch.
Vicky, the woman behind the Pasta Grannies lens, recently visited Turin to discover how a social project for pasta is helping combat loneliness.
The channel covers many types of pasta, some most have never heard of including:
· Scarpinocc – a shoe shaped pasta
- Filindeu – an extremely rare pasta from Sardinia
· Culurgiones – a pasta stuffed with mash potato
- Lumachelle della Duchessa – also know as Duchess’s Little Snails
- Pì Fasacc’ – also known as Swaddled Babies
If you’re just a beginner, the Pasta Grannies can also help you make a classic lasagna, tomato passata and Cannelloni .
