Promax Global Excellence Awards 2022 honours Asharq News with Four Awards-

Asharq News, the multi-platform Arabic news service provider, has received global recognition from the Promax Global Excellence Awards 2022 – the global association for the entertainment and marketing industry – for its achievements in creativity and technology in the media industry.

Asharq News is the only Arabic entity to win the Promax awards this year, with one Gold Award, one Silver and two Bronze at the New York awards.

Asharq News was awarded the Gold Award in the News: Best Programme for Open/Titles. The show, On The Other Side, secured this esteemed award, a news documentary that shows an alternate perspective of how political and social-political events affect the lives of individuals and families.

Under the category of the Best Holiday/Special Event Promo, Asharq News won a Silver Award with the promo for Year Ender 2020 Video. The promo was recognised for its heartbreaking portrayal of our collective experience during the Covid lockdowns, while projecting a message of hope for the following year.

With technology playing an increasingly critical role in today’s global media, Asharq News demonstrated its progressive and cutting-edge innovations.

Best Technical Innovations Digital Platforms is an award Asharq News was honored with for its project ‘AI-based vertical stream for mobile’. This technology takes into consideration that most of users are on mobile, consuming vertically, hence, Asharq set out to enhance the viewing experience by recomposing every graphic template in vertical orientation, and all in live stream, using machine learning and artificial intelligence to achieve this award-winning technology.

Furthermore, Asharq News won a further Bronze Award for the opening titles of the Special Interview programme’, which brought in the award also in the category for News: Best Programme for Open/Titles. This opening sequence provides the introduction to the show that interviews business and political leaders. With this award, Asharq News secured 2 trophies in the same category.
