De Nadas, the UK’s first empanadería specialising in Argentinian hand-shaped empanadas, is bringing back MalbecFEST on Saturday 18th April 2026 – following last year’s sell-out.
MalbecFEST 2026, which takes place at De Nadas’ shop and 2,000 sq ft kitchen in Bethnal Green, will celebrate one of the world’s greatest grapes – the Argentinian Malbec – the day after International Malbec Day on 17th April.
The ticketed event, which gives a home to the UK’s Malbecmaniacs, will feature wine tastings and talks, live music, empanadas and Chef Nico will also be firing up the parrilla.
Tickets are £25 per person and will include four generous glasses of wine, in addition to up to 30 ‘micro-tastings’. There are two sessions available, with each lasting 3 hours: from 1pm to 4pm and 5pm to 8pm.
Argentina’s best wineries have confirmed their presence at the event, including big names like Catena Zapata, Rutini and Zuccardi, just to name a few of the 30 labels at the festival.
There will be more than just wine at MalbecFEST, with empanadas being baked all day with meat, vegetarian and plant-based fillings. This is in addition to choripanes, the classic asado sandwich featuring grilled chorizo sausage and chimichurri and home-made alfajores – Argentinean shortbread biscuits with Dulce de Leche – plus a stage with Argentinian live music from Los Ponchos.
De Nadas was founded in 2022 to bring a cult-status to Argentinian empanadas in London.
Its first shop in Notting Hill was followed by Shoreditch, Stoke Newington, Bethnal Green’s Poyser Street and Kew Gardens.
Poyser Street is a row of railway arches which houses a burgeoning community of independent businesses including Sodo Pizza, Rogue Sarnies, Focaccia Mia, La Tostada, Ida’s Kitchen, Burnt and the charity, The Vagina Museum.
