ALLWYN REVEALS THE TOP PLACES WHERE TICKETS HAVE BEEN SOLD, AS BRITS TRY THEIR LUCK FOR THE RECORD £300M JACKPOT

  As Powerball tickets went on sale across the UK on Tuesday, National Lottery players have been snapping up tickets for their chance to win the win the world’s biggest rolling jackpot game for the very first time tonight.  
With hundreds of thousands of tickets sold across retail and online through the National Lottery website and app in the first 24 hours alone, Powerball fever is here as players take their chance on the life-changing estimated £300M jackpot.
When it comes to who is playing, digital players in Belfast purchased the most tickets in the UK on launch day, closely followed by online players in Newcastle.
Belfast and Newcastle were closely followed by players from Nottingham, Cardiff and South East London for snapping up tickets for the new game on the National Lottery website and app. And the very first the first Powerball ticket bought online was by a keen player in Brighton yesterday morning at 5.54am.  
But it’s not all about digital play. The first UK Powerball ticket in a shop was sold at Sewell On The Go in Pocklington, York at just after 5am on Tuesday. And Northern Ireland was also quick off the draw in retail, with a Ballymena player at The Candy Bar also buying a ticket at 5am.
In Scotland, News Plus in Cupar sold a ticket at 5.01am yesterday morning, closely followed by a player in Wales who bought their ticket from EG On The Move in Swansea at 5.05am.
Players have until 11.55pm on Wednesday 22 July to secure their chance to be part of Powerball history, ahead of the first draw at around 4am (UK time) on Thursday 23 July. Following the launch, draws will take place three times a week from the Powerball studio in Florida. 
The game is behind some of the world’s most extraordinary lottery wins, including the record-breaking jackpot worth more than $2.04 billion won in 2022. With uncapped jackpots starting at £10 million and capable of growing into the hundreds of millions, and even beyond £1 billion, Powerball offers prize potential unlike anything previously available through The National Lottery.

How will Powerball work in the UK?  
Powerball is launching in the UK in partnership with the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) – a non-profit association owned and operated by its member lotteries. 
With 48 US-based lotteries already participating in Powerball, Allwyn is launching a tailored version of the game for UK players. 
Priced at £4 per line, UK players will play for a chance to win the shared jackpot by matching five main numbers plus the Powerball, with the jackpot paid to UK winners over 30 years. 
The UK game features an additional ’Match 2 main numbers’ prize tier, available only to UK players, which offers a fixed prize of £8. 
The ‘Match 5 main numbers’ tier also offers a fixed prize of £1M, while all other prize tiers offer estimated prizes, which vary depending on the numbers drawn and the number of winners in each tier. 
Players choose five main numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26, or can opt for a Lucky Dip. 
For the first UK draw, tickets are available to buy online and in-store until 11.55pm on Wednesday 22 July. 
Thereafter, tickets are available online and in-store until 11.55pm the night before each draw. Draws take place around 4am UK time on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from the Powerball studio in Florida.
