London’s Best Places to Enjoy a Spritz Revealed Ahead of National Spritz Day
As London gears up to celebrate National Spritz Day, Aperol and Campari are shining a spotlight on the capital’s thriving spritz culture, revealing some of the very best places to enjoy the iconic serve this summer – from bustling rooftops and canalside terraces to neighbourhood bars and hidden gems.
The popularity of cocktails shows no signs of slowing, with the UK on-trade cocktail market now worth £708 million, growing 1.3% year-on-year. Cocktails now account for almost one in ten (8.9%) spirits serves across Great Britain, with the Aperol Spritz cementing its position as the nation’s favourite spritz, representing 13.6% of all cocktail serves and increasing its market share by 3.7 percentage points year-on-year.
The appeal of the spritz extends far beyond special occasions. Nearly six in ten (59%) spritz drinkers visit pubs and bars every week, while one in four (25%) say they choose a spritz on most occasions they go out. Whether catching up with friends after work, enjoying a long lunch in the sunshine or celebrating a special occasion, the drink has become synonymous with relaxed social occasions, with almost half (49%) of consumers choosing a spritz for laid-back drinks and over half (57%) enjoying one during the early evening.
With consumers increasingly seeking memorable experiences that also deliver value, Aperol and Campari have curated a guide to some of London’s standout destinations for enjoying a spritz this summer. This year’s highlights include free Aperol Spritzes for the first 100 visitors at KERB Seven Dials Market, £5 Aperol Spritzes for the first 250 guests at The Clubhouse London Bridge, £5 Campari Spritzes throughout August at Bar Brasso, daily 2-for-1 Campari Spritzes at Lina Stores Broadgate Circle, a complimentary small plate with every Campari Spritz at Bar Termini, and the Campari-sponsored terrace at Kimpton Fitzroy running until the end of September. Alongside these standout activations, the guide features iconic terraces, stylish city bars and neighbourhood favourites offering seasonal promotions, exclusive serves and limited-time experiences, making it easier than ever for Londoners to discover where to raise a glass this summer without breaking the bank.
