As London prepares for its most vibrant weekend of the year, The Big Gay Brunch announces its highly anticipated return to the heart of the West End. On Saturday, 4 July 2026, the stunning gardens of The Actors’ Church in Covent Garden will be transformed into a ‘camp village fête,’ offering a stylish and relaxed alternative to the hectic Pride parade route.
Supported once again by Shaftesbury Capital, and this year also by Covent Garden’s The Yards and Westminster City Council, the event kicks off at 11:00 AM, welcoming the LGBTQ+ community and allies for a day for fun-filled joy.
A Chilled Sanctuary in the Heart of Pride
Set within the historic grounds of St. Paul’s Covent Garden, the event swaps the crowded streets for a lush, welcoming garden setting. Guests can enjoy a curated selection of food, Coffee in the Garden, and a pay bar, alongside complimentary alcohol-free sparkling wine.
The day features a vibrant lineup of entertainment and activities:
Star-Studded Hosting: The festivities will be led by the fabulous headline host Ella V Ryde (@ellavryde), with enchanting storytelling sessions from the iconic Mama G (@mamagstories).
Live Performances: The stage will come alive with talent from Laine Theatre Arts and the uplifting Sing Space Community Choir.
Creative Workshops: Attendees can get hands-on with interactive pottery and drag puppet-making workshops.
The Glam Station: Guests can get Pride-ready with complimentary professional make-up sessions courtesy of the cosmetic icons at Charlotte Tilbury.
Makers Market: A curated selection of stalls showcasing goods from local LGBTQ+ creators and independent businesses.
Supporting 50 Years of Community Care
Beyond the brunch and bubbles, the event serves a vital purpose. All proceeds from the day will benefit London Friend (https://londonfriend.org.uk/), the UK’s oldest LGBTQ+ charity. Celebrating more than 50 years of service, London Friend provides essential health and mental wellbeing support to the community.
A poignant addition to this year’s event is the ‘Ribbon Wall.’ For a small donation to the charity, guests are invited to tie a rainbow ribbon to the wall with a commemorative card, honouring a loved one, or showing support for those currently facing physical or mental health challenges.
The event’s world-class raffle will also raise significant funds for London Friend, with a stellar array of prizes, including:
Experiences: Entry for 10 people (including food and wine) or a family ticket for 5 to the Spyscape experience; free entry to the London Transport Museum; and two one-month memberships to Jubilee Hall Gym.
Theatre & Dining: Tickets to hit shows including Magic Mike Live and The Hunger Games; Champagne tea for two at the Covent Garden Hotel; and dinners at Joe Allen, The Oystermen, and the new restaurant Burro.
Beauty: A one-to-one professional make-up session at the Charlotte Tilbury flagship store.
“The Big Gay Brunch is about more than just a party; it’s about creating a space where our community can celebrate together in a beautiful, historic setting while giving back to the organisations that keep us safe and healthy,” say the event organisers.
