UWL improves performance in the 2026 Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Rankings

UWL has improved its overall performance in the 2026 Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Rankings which ranks universities from over 130 countries on their progress towards the United Nation’s (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Overall, UWL rose from 601-800 to 301-400, demonstrating continued progress across a range of sustainability, research and teaching activities. UWL is also ranked among the top 74 institutions globally for impact toward SDG 10, Reduced Inequalities, due to published research in this area, alongside a high number of first-generation students.

Other significant gains for UWL include rising from 401–600 to 101–200 for impact toward SDG 13, Climate Action, and rising from 601-800 to 401-600 against SDG 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth. Alongside this, UWL maintained its position at 401–600 for impact toward SDG 3, Good Health and Wellbeing.
